James
and I have been married for
12yrs and knowing how to
communicate effectively has been
a challenge. We both are
avoiders of stressful situations
that may end up in conflict.
We gained tools to use that
guided us in effectively
listening and talking. Chris
Hernandez is wonderful! She is a
constant professional and
genuinely vested in helping
couples learn the skills needed
to build a healthy marriage.
Now when we need to discuss
something of importance the cue
is Im getting the mat out"...
we both laugh at that comment
but we know that its serious
and we need to use our skills
around! |

What is Relationship Coaching?
Relationship coaching is a professional
client-focused service wherein the
individual or couple is viewed as
healthy, powerful, and able to achieve
relationship goals with effective
support, information, and guidance.
Relationship coaching is a dynamic
co-creative relationship that uses
communication and problem solving. This
professional relationship accelerates
personal and professional development
because the coach and client work as a
team to enable the client to tackle
present interests, challenges, and
goals. Relationship coaching is all
about supporting people in becoming
their personal best. The practice of
guiding and supporting someone through
personal transformation and success is
commonly used in sports, business,
religious, and other venues because of
its tremendous value to the process of
change.
My Coaching Philosophy & Style
I believe that relationship coaching is
an incredibly valuable resource for
personal growth and development. Its an
opportunity to reach for what you truly
want in your relationships with the help
of a skilled and caring companion to
support you as you take the steps that
will help you begin to realize what is
possible. Discovering what is possible
involves clarifying what is important to
you
your thoughts, feelings, wants, and
actions.
Relationship coaching takes caring,
courage, commitment, and character.
Paradoxically, it also strengthens these
very attributes if you approach it with
integrity and motivation. Can you
believe that the life you have is the
life you have chosen until now? Its
true! Our choices are so powerful. They
can propel us forward to the glorious
destiny that awaits us or become an
obstacle that entrenches us in a life
less deserving of our dignity.
As your coach, you can count on me to
respect your dignity by facilitating
awareness of your strengths, challenges,
options, and opportunities. You can
count on me to be an accountability
partner, encouraging you to act
courageously, and strategically to
accomplish your goals. My approach to
problem solving is both logical and
action oriented. I prefer a
collaborative communication style that
incorporates the exploring of facts and
possibilities, and working through
challenges productively with the purpose
of collaboratively generating action
plans that fit your awareness of what is
needed.
My focus is to positively connect and
collaborate with you. I can be firm and
affirming, flexible and caring. I value
faith, principle, honesty, self
acceptance, compassion and mercy. I
believe firmly in the providential love,
grace, and mercy of God as an
indispensible resource for creating
lasting change in ourselves and our
relationships.
How Does Relationship Coaching Work?
Relationship coaching begins with your
decision to take action on your desire
to strengthen your marriage and family
relationships by :
Understanding what relationship
coaching is
Understanding the specific roles of
the Coach and Client
And, being clear on the differences
between coaching, therapy, and
consulting
Once you are clear about what
relationship coaching is and offers its
time to get clear about your level of
readiness to participate in this
wonderful process. Start by taking the
Relationship Coaching Readiness
Assessment, and then after you receive
your results contact me for a
complimentary session. This is an
opportunity to share your relationship
interests, challenges, and goals with
me, as well as, a chance to experience
my coaching style.

thoughts, feelings, intentions, and

and on time
Showing up ready to engage
Relationship Coaching vs. Consulting and Therapy
Relationship Coaching views you as the
expert on your life. The coach shares
knowledge, experience, and information to
empower you to determine what works
best for you, and what is in your best
interest. Coaching facilitates your
learning, and
doing by offering valuable information,
support, and encouragement without
attempting to control the outcome for
you. Consulting involves giving advice
and
solutions with a particular outcome in
mind. Therapy assumes a need for
healing,
focuses on the past, and aims for
insight and resolution. Coaches do not
treat clinical
disorders such as depression, anxiety,
phobias, and addictions.
Professional Coaching and Therapy have
the following similarities
Working with clients who want to make
changes
Engages in an ongoing fee-for-service
relationship
Services offered through regularly
scheduled sessions
Utilize verbal dialogue as primary
service activity
Adherence to client confidentiality,
and professional standards and ethical
guidelines

you:

relating more effectively

Relationship Coaching Groups
These are excellent opportunities to
join others who like you are committed
to personal growth. Relationship
coaching groups are interactive sessions
facilitated by me that are structured
around a common theme or focus. The
genius of this format of learning is
that you experience coaching from the
coach (me) along with support and
encouragement from other participants
all in a mutually supportive learning
environment. These are small groups
consisting of 6 to 10 individuals or 3
to 5 couples. This is an affordable and
effective way to experience coaching for
important relational changes.
You Can Participate by Telephone or Webcast
I use both telephone and webcasting technology to give you the option of participating in a coaching group by telephone or webcast. The groups take place over the telephone and by live web simulcast, which allows you to participate from the convenience of your office, home, or hotel! Relationship groups meet for 90 minutes three times a month. The time and day remains the same.
TeleSeminars
Content-rich interactive presentations
delivered via telephone and live web
simulcast that offer you timely
information and proven strategies for
enriching yourself and your marriage and
family relationships. |
